This is a character from a cell phone game called Xenosaga Pied Piper. It takes place 100 years before the start of Xenosaga Epiosde 1. Anyway, this picture takes place after the end of the game. Meris is looking back on everything, realizing that nothing will ever be the same. I'd go into it in more detail, but I'm lazy.
Meris' expression and the little pictures got me misty eyed, as did her disheveled clothing and the overal atmosphere of the drawing. I can't really think of suitable words to describe this (or how much/why I love it), honestly. It's just...so warm, comforting, yet heart-breaking. Beyond beautiful work, you two.

Oh! How beautiful!!!! I need to read that whole Pied Paper story!!! Since I'll never get the actual game -_-!!! But I love how you drew everything!!! The hair and eyes and expression!!! You and Rosie do the best collabs!!! There truley amazing!!! I must fav!!!!
That's such a nice image. The pictures especially are a nice touch (I see Bagus!) Meris looks so sad, and it's like in that moment she decides to form Scientia. Excellent work.
That's beautiful! I love how you drew her face; it's wonderfully expressive, and it looks as if she's holding back tears (and not succeeding at it either). The little snapshots of their lives before the incident are heartbreaking, and very sweet.

The idea of this contest is to set you up completely blind with a mythical being - from any world culture - and turn you loose to come up with a deviation based around it!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
